ATStore, the Atmosphere Directory, and Community Involvement

A couple weeks ago, Andrew Lisowski launched ATStore, an app directory for the Atmosphere. He’d begun work on it 04/08/26 as he, just as many of us, knew that it would be a step in the right direction for legibility of the ecosystem.
Just ahead of the launch, Andrew donated that work to the AT Protocol Community Fund, as there was a project focused on legibility starting to develop and he felt that the ATStore would be a useful resource for it. From there, volunteers from the community began chipping away at the underlying lexicon, categorization, and early UX to help the project to the finish line.
Since launch, the ATStore has 102 claimed apps and 172 reviews, along with features like Germ DM integration, Standard Site integration and permissions overviews.
We’ve also been delighted to see how many folks have discovered services they’d never known existed by checking the directory out. We ourselves have learned of many along the way!
Get Involved
This is a community project that we’re working on together. There are numerous ways you can be involved, and we wanted to share some of them with you.
The ATStore is open source on GitHub (with a mirror going up on Tangled and Blacksky Forge soon), and open to contributions from the community. Report bugs and suggest features: if you find something broken or have some new features
Contribute as a developer : Thanks to GrishaLR for picking up translations and theming
Join the Discord: The ATProto Touchers Discord has a dedicated #atstore-app-directory channel for discussing the project
Help with Translations: The Atmosphere is worldwide, and so should the directory! We want the directory to be in as many languages as possible.
Build Your Own: The ATStore also has a lexicon that can be used to build alternative directories! If you want to build a parallel directory, list a series of apps for a specific niche, or have any other cool ideas on what a directory can be - build it! Directory Jam, anyone?
If you’re interested in working with us on this and other Atmosphere legibility projects, please join the Atmosphere Builder’s Collective Discord and ask to join the team.
We look forward to working and learning with you!
